Brooklyn Public Library has announced that it will renovate Pacific Library, located at Fourth Avenue and Pacific Street. The library dates back to 1904. They are currently looking for the public’s input as they plan renovations. Fill out the survey here! No closing date or renovation timeline has been announced yet.

Carroll Gardens Library closed in July 2023 for major renovations, and due unexpected complications, the reopening has been further pushed back to Summer 2026. While weekly children’s programs have resumed, the Carroll Gardens community has voiced their frustration with the delay. Community members appealed to State Senator Andrew Gounardes, who stepped in alongside to recommend that Brooklyn Public Library create an interim home at 250 Baltic Street. The letter sent to Linda Johnson, president of Brooklyn Public Library, was also signed by Council Member Shahana Hanif, Michael Racioppo, District Manager Brooklyn Community Board 6, and Assembly Member Jo Anne Simon. With a temporary space, the library could offer more programming and book access through Summer 2026. Stay tuned for more updates!
