FREE STEM summer camps in Downtown Brooklyn and other locations – Application deadline is 4/24

This summer, STEM Matters NYC is offering a variety of exciting, hands-on, experiential science and STEM programs for students entering grades 1-12 in September 2024. Programs will run in all five boroughs, but Brooklyn-based camps will be located in Downtown Brooklyn, Sunset Park, Coney Island, and Bergen Beach. The application deadline is Wednesday, April 24. At UrbanGlass in Downtown Brooklyn, high school students will learn how to make neon signs and stained-glass windows. Younger students will study coral reefs at the New York Aquarium and NYC’s water supply at the Genovesi Environmental Study Center. Students of all ages at MakerSpace NYC in Sunset Park will use both simple and advanced machines, and can also learn about sustainable fashion and design, 3D industrial design & manufacturing, and more!

Students entering grades 1-9 can participate in a weeklong camp. Students entering grades 10-12 can participate in a two or four-week program. Programs will run during various weeks throughout the summer between July 8 and August 16, 2024.
