The night will include a beginner-friendly Mahjong lesson followed by open play with coaching on hand. Participants will share a table with new faces and real space to connect through play. Join us for a breakfast and panel celebrating the impact of mothers across Brooklyn’s communities, businesses, and civic life. Moderated by award-winning journalist and speaker Grace Bastidas, the panel will gather change maker moms for a conversation about Motherhood In Brooklyn: how moms are driving new ideas, navigating challenges, and taking the lead in shaping the borough’s diverse communities. All ticket proceeds will be donated to Brooklyn Org. Participants will be able to pick their very own flower bouquet at our Show Bklyn Some Love Flower Bar at the end of the event.

On May 9th, the day before Mother’s Day, The Alex House Project is running with the run club for a cause, Run For Good, to raise money and awareness for The Alex House Project. The run will take place at Grand Army Plaza and consist of a 3-mile run through Prospect Park. Come join in celebrating mothers and the nice spring weather!

Brooklyn Org, City Point, Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, Stardust Fund, and Brooklyn Bridge Parents will unite the community, leading cultural organizations, and nonprofits for the third annual free “Show Brooklyn Some Love Fest” at City Point and Albee Square. There will be a free Mother’s Day Flower Bar (make a custom bouquet for mom), the Brooklyn Museum on Wheels, a bead bar, African dance workshop & drumming, DJ, and more kids’ activities. This event will take place inside and outside.

Celebrate Mother’s Day at the zoo this year! In this special, family-friendly program, participants will explore how bees, butterflies, and other pollinators help bring life to the world around us. Through interactive activities and up-close animal encounters, participants will learn about the vital role these tiny superheroes play in our ecosystems.
