Brooklyn Independent, a sliding-scale middle school in Fort Greene

Academically ambitious and deeply human. Brooklyn Independent (BKI), is a sliding-scale tuition middle school in Fort Greene serving grades 6–8. We combine academic rigor with radical inclusion to cultivate thinkers, creators, and compassionate humans.

90% of families come from public elementary schools, and our sliding-scale tuition model is designed to make an exceptional middle school education more accessible.
