Enjoy this Chuseok with music, games, and a little magic! “Who should we play with this Chuseok?” “What wish should we whisper to the moon?” Yunie’s Magical Adventure is an imaginative family music theater production that brings beloved Korean children’s songs and traditional games to life through storytelling, multimedia, and the vibrant sounds of both Western classical and Korean traditional music. The story follows Yunie, a curious young girl who discovers a magical world when tofu and bean sprouts suddenly come to life and become her new friends. Together, they set off on a joyful adventure filled with music, play, friendship, and unexpected discoveries. Featuring a live chamber orchestra, interactive games, colorful visuals, and engaging storytelling, the performance invites children and families to experience some of Korea’s most beloved traditional games, including Kkomaya Kkomaya (Little Child), Mugunghwa Flower Has Bloomed (Korean Red Light, Green Light), Dong Dong Dongdaemun (Gate Game), Toad, Toad (Sandcastle Game), Hide-and-Seek, and Ganggangsullae (Circle Dance). Through music, movement, and imaginative play, Yunie’s Magical Adventure offers children and families a joyful introduction to Korean culture while exploring universal themes of family, friendship, imagination, and belonging. Timed around Chuseok, one of Korea’s most important traditional holidays, the performance also celebrates the spirit of togetherness and shared memories that make the season especially meaningful for families.
